Founded by Max Levene, Levene Landscapes is North London studio specialising in creating bespoke gardens that combine elegance, atmosphere and quiet functionality across London and the home counties.

Max combines creative vision, horticultural expertise and technical precision to create gardens that are approached not only as beautiful compositions, but as outdoor spaces designed to support the rhythms of daily life and feel effortless to live with.

At the heart of the studio is a deep commitment to the craft of making gardens properly. There is a clear connection between design and construction, with each idea shaped by aesthetic intent, but by technical rigour, buildability and budget from the outset.
That continuity allows the project to move from drawing to site with far greater precision, clarity and control.

We used Levene Landscapes for the extensive "renovation" of our garden and they did a fantastic job. From our initial consultation Max listened carefully to our design brief and produced designs that reflected what we wanted and then adapted the designs as the project progressed. Thanks to the time it took to get planning and access constraints it was quite a long process split into 3 phases but Max was patient throughout and he and his team executed each phase with diligence, efficiency and high quality workmanship that has resulted in the complete transformation of the garden and we are so pleased with the result. Our role extends well beyond the design itself.
We oversee the wider framework around each project, coordinating people, decisions, materials and information so that the process feels clear, steady and properly led throughout.

We work in a collaborative and personal way, with clear continuity between designer, client and on site teams from the earliest ideas through to construction and planting.

Alongside the design work itself, we coordinate the many moving parts that sit around a successful project: client liaison, programme planning, material sourcing, specialist subcontractors, and, where required, planning applications and consultant input.
​
Depending on the scheme, this may include structural engineers, irrigation specialists, fabricators or other technical consultants whose work needs to align seamlessly with the wider vision.

We work with a trusted network of skilled trades and specialist makers, with the emphasis always on quality, communication and control, making sure the design intent is protected, the site runs smoothly, and the client feels well informed throughout.

The result is a process where creative vision and practical delivery remain closely aligned, allowing the garden to be carried through with clarity, consistency and care.
