Founded by Max Levene, Levene Landscapes is a North London landscape design and build studio creating distinctive gardens across London and the Home Counties.
Max leads the creative direction of the studio, with an approach rooted in context, proportion and atmosphere. Each garden is conceived as an extension of its architecture, responding to the character of the site while establishing its own distinct identity.
His work explores the interplay between architectural form and the more expressive qualities of landscape. Strong spatial gestures are softened by layered planting, natural materials and considered detail, creating gardens that feel both composed and instinctive.
This thinking extends through the entire studio.
Design, horticulture and construction operate as one integrated practice, allowing ideas to be developed and realised with clarity from the first sketch through to completion.
Our vertically integrated team brings creative ambition together with horticultural knowledge and construction expertise, considering buildability, programme and budget from the outset while maintaining the integrity of the design throughout.
We work collaboratively with architects, interior designers and specialist consultants, creating a natural dialogue between the garden, the architecture and the wider scheme.
The result is a garden with a strong sense of place, intrinsically connected to the home and its surroundings, beautifully crafted, made for everyday life and designed to grow richer with time.

We used Levene Landscapes for the extensive "renovation" of our garden and they did a fantastic job. From our initial consultation Max listened carefully to our design brief and produced designs that reflected what we wanted and then adapted the designs as the project progressed. Thanks to the time it took to get planning and access constraints it was quite a long process split into 3 phases but Max was patient throughout and he and his team executed each phase with diligence, efficiency and high quality workmanship that has resulted in the complete transformation of the garden and we are so pleased with the result. A Carefully Managed Process
Our role extends well beyond the design itself, we oversee the wider framework of each project, coordinating people, decisions, materials and information so the process remains clear, considered and properly led throughout.
From the earliest conversations through to construction and planting, we provide a consistent point of contact for the client, bringing together the different disciplines required to deliver the garden.
Alongside the creative work, we manage programme planning, material sourcing, specialist trades and, where required, planning applications and consultant input. Depending on the scheme, this may involve structural engineers, irrigation specialists, fabricators and other technical expertise.
We have built a trusted network of skilled trades, craftspeople and specialist makers, selected for the quality of their work and their understanding of the level of detail our projects demand.
Throughout, we keep a close eye on the relationship between what is drawn and what is built. Decisions are resolved carefully, information is communicated clearly and the client remains informed as the project takes shape.
This allows creative vision and practical delivery to move together, carrying each garden from an idea on paper to a finished landscape with clarity, consistency and care.
